weddings

Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding. We are honored and excited to be a part of your very special day. It is our desire to help make your wedding both beautiful and meaningful. Your wedding should be a blessing to you and to others as they witness a Christ-centered ceremony.

This webpage has been prepared to assist you in making your decision to have your wedding at Community. It contains our guidelines, our process, and all the costs related to having a wedding here. If you have questions about anything related to your wedding, please contact our Office Manager, Vicky Horn at vhorn@communitycc.com or (954) 724-7400, ext. 233.

Guidelines:

Weddings are reserved for members and regular attenders of Community Christian Church. This means you must have been regularly attending our services for at least 6 months prior to submitting your Wedding Application, unless approved by an officiating pastor. All weddings must conclude and have left the building by 8:00 PM on Saturdays and cannot start before 3:00 PM on Sundays in order to avoid conflict with our regular worship services. Weddings are not scheduled on the major holiday weekends of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Pre-marital counseling is required for everyone desiring to be married at Community. The counseling consists of a pre-marriage assessment and 4 hours with one of our pastors or counselors.

We are unable to provide decorating or planning services. If you desire a professional wedding planner and decorator, you must hire them on your own. Vicky Horn, our Office Manager, serves as a scheduling and facilities coordinator only. She will coordinate your wedding needs and schedule with the staff and all personnel involved.

Included in the wedding fees is a charge for custodial services. This will ensure the building is properly prepared for the worship services, while allowing you to get to your reception. Make sure everything you want to keep, like decorations and flowers, have been removed by someone after the ceremony.

Our buildings and grounds are smoke-free and alcohol-free environments. It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to inform the wedding party about these policies.

Process:

Step 1 – Read through this brochure, fill out the Wedding Application, and turn it in with the deposit for the counseling to Vicky Horn in the church office. At that point your date will be reserved and pastors will be alerted to see who is available for that date.

Step 2 – Take the online pre-marriage assessment. Once assessments are completed and returned to us, your counselor will contact you to schedule your counseling sessions. Once the counseling is complete, a pre-marriage counseling letter will be sent to you. Take this letter with you when you get your marriage license and you will receive a discount off the cost of your license.

Step 3 – The pastor who will be officiating your service will contact you to plan out your ceremony. He will give you ideas to make your ceremony special and personal, but it will require your thought and effort to make it the best.

Step 4 – Stay in communication with Vicky Horn so she can schedule all the personnel and make sure the building will be available and open when you need to plan or decorate. Turn in any final payments one week before the wedding.

Step 5 – Show up on time with your wedding party for the rehearsal. Since many people will be involved in your wedding from the sound and lighting techs to the officiating pastor, you don’t want them standing around waiting. The rehearsal will usually last between 45 minutes to 1 hour from the time the rehearsal actually starts. Bring your marriage license so it can be filled out that evening and not forgotten on the day of the wedding.

Step 6 – Enjoy your wedding!
