WHAT TO DO – Become a volunteer: give just one hour a week to deliver Hand-Off Meals for Seniors; you’re doing more than dropping off food — you’re sharing friendship, care, and hope.
- Coordinate a weekly schedule with the senior you are assigned to. You will pick up 10 meals weekly, providing 5 breakfasts and 5 dinners for your senior.
- Food can be picked up any day of the week when the restaurants are open, M-F 6:30 AM – 7 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 6:30 AM – 2 PM

4KIDS exists to bring hope, homes, and healing to kids and families in crisis. 4KIDS remains committed to redefining foster care across our region one child at a time, with the support of the faith-based community and more.
Being a 4KIDS volunteer is a tangible way to provide hope to kids. Volunteers help 4KIDS grow resources, improve efficiencies, and provide better service to the children and families we serve.

Firewall Centers provides daily, school-based tutoring and mentoring services designed to help students achieve academic success, build character, and transform into servant leaders.
Firewall Centers was founded in July 2003 after the tragic death of a 13-year-old girl who overdosed on drugs while left unsupervised during after-school hours. Founders Andy and Janeth Fernandez began meeting weekly in the very mobile home park where the young girl lived and died, providing activities and positive object lessons for its youth. Recognizing the need for a daily positive presence, an after-school mentoring and tutoring center was established. Since 2012 when Firewall Centers began its first after-school program within public schools, the organization has expanded from serving 40 students to now more than 1300 every day

Broward County families who need subsidized daycare wait an average of two and one-half to three years for assistance. That means there can be as many as 10,000 children in need of safe, quality, affordable daycare so their parents can work!
God’s Little Lambs provides quality childcare in a warm, loving and nurturing learning environment. Founded in 1999 to provide daycare to homeless and very low-income families who are not receiving subsidies from the state, God’s Little Lambs is a caring home away from home for more than 100 children each year. Programs include one year old to pre-kindergarten age, plus afterschool care for school age children. Over 90% of enrolled children pay a reduced tuition which is made possible through donations from individuals, churches, and organizations who love all of God’s children.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Read to children for 1 hour on a weekly basis
- Computer assistance for preschoolers for 90 minutes, one day per week
- Serve lunches- commit to one day per week from 10:30- noon
- Wash toys, clean and organize
- Opportunities are available for groups to paint, clean, spread mulch and do landscaping.
Volunteers working in direct contact with children will need to be background screened according to the Broward County Ordinances.

CarePortal is designed to connect churches, business, and individuals with the children and families who are at-risk or already a part of the child welfare system. The needs featured on CarePortal are vetted by child welfare professionals who know the struggles of the families. The top five most frequently requested needs on CarePortal are: beds and cribs, dressers, living room furniture, car seats, and seasonal items.
We believe as a community, when we meet the right need at the right time, we can engage families in meaningful relationships, and we will see more children stay safely at home in their own communities, and see fewer children removed from their homes and entering the foster care system.

The Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office is the best way to represent the legal interests of Florida’s most vulnerable children, the abused, abandoned and neglected based on data and evidence. Florida law requires the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office to represent Florida’s children caught in the complex foster care system every day through no fault of their own. They face a world of temporary living situations and intervening professionals with a high turnover rate. We are the only agency on the child’s case who focuses only on the child and represents the child’s legal interests in court and their social needs in the community.

WHAT IS AN ĒMA ADVOCATE?
Advocates are trained volunteers with a passion to see families preserved through mother advocacy. The ĒMA Advocate builds a meaningful connection with one mom, works together towards her goals, is a voice box for her progress and needs in the community, and helps her stay connected to support. When a mom has an Advocate, she receives holistic care that solely stems from a place of relationship.
Advocates are paired with a mother from the very beginning of her journey through the program. They are trained and equipped to provide the social, emotional and tangible support vulnerable moms need to move from crisis to stability.

A Lifeline in Times of Crisis
Soles4Souls’ 4Relief program delivers essential support to individuals impacted by natural disasters and other emergencies. By providing new shoes, socks, and clothing, the program helps restore not only comfort but also dignity and hope during times of profound hardship.
Through partnerships with individuals, businesses, and faith-based organizations, Soles4Souls organizes shoe drives that directly benefit people in urgent need, turning community compassion into meaningful relief.
What Is Honor Flight?
Honor Flight South Florida is a 100% all-volunteer organization, dedicated solely to honoring all veterans in Broward, Dade, and Monroe counties. In the final chapters of their lives, it’s a race against time to fly these veterans to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at the memorials built in their honor.
First priority for a trip is given to World War II veterans. Terminally ill veterans of any service period may be given the same priority as WWII veterans (physician statement required).
The veteran’s one-day mission to Washington D.C. includes round-trip airfare, deluxe bus transportation throughout Washington with police escorts, meals, commemorative tee shirts, and other amenities needed to travel comfortably. Disabled veterans are also welcome; with advance arrangements, honor chairs and oxygen are available.

Since 2005, Tomorrow’s Rainbow has provided a unique alternative to indoor mental health services by offering no-cost bereavement support groups and trauma-focused Eagala Model equine-assisted psychotherapy for children, teens, and their families. The mission of Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The ultimate objective of Special Olympics Florida is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.

Special Olympics Florida offers year-round training and competition in a variety of team and individual sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate. Special Olympics athletes are given opportunities to participate without regard to economic, demographic, religious, or social factors. Neither athletes nor parents are charged a fee to participate in the program, and activities exist for those of all ability levels, from the highly functioning to the severely challenged. Anyone can participate in Special Olympics if they meet the eligibility criteria of having intellectual disabilities or a similar developmental disability.

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world. Since 1993, more than 232 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.
