Frequently Asked Questions about our new Satellite Campus
How did the adoption idea come about?
In December of 2019, the leadership of First Christian Church of Pompano Beach (FCCPB) approached the leaders of Community Christian Church, asking if we would be interested in adopting them as a satellite campus.
Why did Community consider this adoption?
Our mission is to help more people follow Jesus and go to heaven one day. This adoption allows us to expand our reach. During Community’s Cannonball generosity initiative, we committed to be ready if God ever presented a multi-site opportunity. We believe this is an answer to our prayers.
What are the benefits of this proposed adoption?
This adoption allows Community’s leadership and resources to combine with FCCPB’s people and location. More can be accomplished together in multiple locations under one organization.
What is a Multi-Site or Satellite church?
It is one church, united in faith, culture, and mission, operating in several locations. The one church, Community Christian Church, will reach and minister to a greater number of people in South Florida out of these two physical campuses—Tamarac and Pompano Beach.
Who will be the pastor and what will happen to Pompano’s staff?
Scott Eynon will be the Lead Pastor for both locations. The minister of FCCPB is relocating to Orlando. FCCPB’s Spanish Pastor, Luis Lopez, will join the ministry staff of Community and continue leading the Spanish-speaking members of the Pompano Beach campus. Bill Davis will be the pastor overseeing the Pompano Beach location until a Campus Pastor has been hired.
What will be the name of the Pompano Campus?
It will be called Community Christian Church Pompano Beach (CCCPB).
What will the worship services be like?
There will be live worship at both locations and the message will be live-streamed to the Pompano Beach campus so both locations will be united by a common message each Sunday.
When will this take place?
FCCPB voted on Sunday, November 22, 2020 to transfer all assets to Community Christian Church and become a satellite campus of Community. They will formally dissolve First Christian Church and become CCCPB on December 31, 2020. The first Worship Service as CCCPB will be Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Where is this campus located?
CCCPB is located in northeast Broward County at 1860 NE 39th Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, just west of Federal Highway. We will reach both Pompano Beach and Lighthouse Point. The CCCPB campus is about 35 minutes from our Tamarac location, which is a perfect distance for a multi-site campus. This will allow us to reach people we are not currently reaching.
How can you help?
If you live in the northeast part of Broward County, we would love to have you try out the Pompano Beach campus. This congregation has about 50 families worshiping there and because of COVID-19 only about half have returned to in-person worship. It will be important to increase the worship attendance at Pompano Beach closer to 100 to feel appealing to visitors. If this campus is closer to you or you just want to help boost their attendance for a few months, we would love to have you give it a try.
